The hospital has achieved one of the highest quality scores achieved by a national centre in Spain.

On Monday 21st May, the Hospital Universitario Fundacion Jiménez Díaz was awarded the Recognised for Excellence 5 Star by EFQM. This centre has achieved a high rating with a score band of 650-700 points, which makes it one of the best valued hospital for Excellence in Madrid.
"14 years ago we started the path of excellence, a path that goes year after year," said Juan Antonio Álvaro de la Parra, manager of the Hospital Universitario Fundacion Jiménez Díaz. De la Parra explained that the basis of excellence in health care at the hospital is based on three pillars: "the patient as the centre of attention, the humanisation of care and the importance of professionals".

For de la Parra, "Innovation is compared to those that are better" and has indicated that Jiménez Díaz will soon be going for a higher recognition than the EFQM 5 Stars, the EFQM Global Excellence Award.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EFQM, Léon Tossaint, has delivered the certificate for Excellence and has recognised the excellence level that this hospital has achieved scoring over 650 points: "The score is so good that the Jiménez Díaz Foundation deserves to be invited to join the EFQM Global Excellence Award programme.
The event was attended by Alberto Pardo Hernández, deputy general director of Quality Care of the Ministry of Health of the Community of Madrid. Pardo has affirmed that the Ministry is a strong advocate of EFQM recognition since "it allows health centres to check which things they do well, and which processes they should improve".
During the visit and celebration, EFQM CEO, Léon Tossaint also provided a presentation evoking the feedback from the Assessment Team.
