Global Excellence Model Council

The members of the GEM Council are the guardians of the premier Excellence Models across the world. Through a formalised approach for sharing their knowledge, experience and information, the GEM Council serves as a global fraternity in the field of Excellence.

The GEM Council maintains a leading edge position on Excellence Models, reviews how business trends and external factors could impact the utility and application of Excellence Models and explores opportunities for new services and award programmes.

The Business Excellence Framework (BEF) is an integrated leadership and management system that describes the elements essential to sustainable organisational excellence. The EFQM Excellence Model is the most widely used organisational framework in Europe and it is the basis for the majority of national and regional Quality Awards. Used as a tool for assessment, it delivers a picture of how well the organisation compares to similar or very different kinds of organisation. India

CII and Export-Import (EXIM) Bank of India jointly established the Award for Business Excellence in 1994 with the aim to enhance the 'Competitiveness of India Inc.'. The Award is based on the EFQM Excellence Model. Apart from recognition, the model provides a holistic management framework to achieve Excellence. [Read more]

 

Ibero & Latin-America
REDIBEX is a network of exchange and mutual cooperation that has as its main purpose to be a permanent forum for cooperation and exchange between the 12 different National Quality Award organisations and also FUNDIBEQ. REDIBEX seeks to create synergies and strengthen the drivers of competitiveness and thereby improve the management capacity of Ibero-American organisations..[Read more]
FUNDIBEQ manages the Ibero-American Excellence Award (IEA) which is based on the Ibero-American Excellence Model (IEM). The IEM provides a common reference for the 22 Ibero-American countries and has been used since 2000.[Read more]
  Japan
The Japan Quality Award was established in 1995 by the Japan Productivity Center for Socio-Economic Development. It was modelled after the concept of Self-Assessment of the Baldrige Framework and is structured in such a way that any organisation regardless of its business or size can use it to assess its organisational performance.

Singapore

The Singapore Quality Award (SQA) was launched in 1994. The Excellence Model underpinning the SQA is based on universally accepted standards that are found in the US Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence Program, the EFQM Excellence Award and the Australian Business Excellence Award. As a symbol of world-class business excellence, the SQA encourages organisations to strengthen their management systems and capabilities to enhance their competitiveness.

United States

The Baldrige Performance Excellence Program provides a systems perspective for understanding performance management. The criteria reflect validated, leading-edge management practices against which an organisation can measure itself. With their acceptance nationally and internationally as a leading model for performance excellence, the criteria represent a common language for communication among organisations for sharing best practices. The Criteria are also the basis for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award process.
