Dear Members of the EFQM global Community,
I would like to inform you on two important decisions taken by the EFQM Board of Directors during the EFQM Board meeting last Friday October 19th in Vienna:
- Dr. Andreas Wendt, has decided to step down as Chairman of the EFQM Board of Directors due to the fact that he has been appointed as a Member of the Board of BMW. Paul Little, Member of the EFQM Board, has been unanimously chosen by his Board colleagues as the new Chairman of the EFQM Board of Directors.
- Russell Longmuir has been appointed to be my successor as the new EFQM CEO, starting the 1st of November.
Let me take this opportunity to thank Andreas, who has joined the EFQM Board since 2009 in different positions and especially for his Chairmanship (since April 2013), where he has been leading EFQM with so much energy and passion, through a difficult transition process to where EFQM stands now as the Leading Excellence Organisation in the world.
I like to wish Paul, who has guided EFQM since October 2014 in different roles like Chairman of the Strategy Committee and of the Finance & Audit Committee, now as the new EFQM Chairman, all the best in taking EFQM forward to the next level of being a role model for Excellence globally.
Please join me in wishing my successor Russell, all the success needed to manage the challenges EFQM is facing in a globally more and more competitive environment.
I am sure under this new leadership EFQM will flourish further to deliver our Brand Promise: “EFQM, Leading Excellence”.
Chief Executive Officer
